Lithuanian Member Committee hosts General Meeting on 29 of June [2010-07-08]

Lithuanian Member Committee of the World Energy Council hosted its General Meeting on 29 June, 2010 in Vilnius. Committee Board made report for the activity being done, the budget and the membership fee order as well as the action plan was approved. Members proposed to use of space of the Committee as opportunity to arrange a couple of seminars on topical issues of energy, where energy sector associations could meet and discuss with government representatives. Issues of sustainable development of renewable energy were discussed. Committee members shared their thoughts how the legislation could contribute in addressing them.

Lithuanian Member Committee of the World Energy Council represents the main Lithuanian energy sector associations with almost 20 thousand professionals working in the energy, and bringing energy professionals together. Lithuanian Committee is a member of the World Energy Council (WEC), established in 1924 to coordinate the restoration of the energy sector after World War I and share of global experience in the organization of energy sector. World Energy Council brings together 93 Member States.
